A Rapid Subproject Sustainability Assessment (RSSA) was recently conducted to the completed subprojects funded by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) in the Province of Antique. This assessment aims to ascertain the functionality of the projects.
The actual conduct of RSSA was conducted by the DILG Municipal Local Government Operations Officers (MLGOOs) for projects amounting to less than 1M, the DILG Provincial Office by Engr. Donee Ruinata for projects amounting to 1M to 1.5M, the Project Development Management Unit by DILG Region 6 for projects amounting to more than 1.5M to 2.5M and the Office of the Project Development Services for projects above 2.5M.
Among the projects assessed were the construction and rehabilitation of water supply system funded by the SALINTUBIG Project and Bottom-up Budgeting in the municipalities of Barbaza, Caluya, Laua-an, Patnongon and San Remigio.
Rehabilitation and repair of public buildings that were destroyed during the onslaught of Typhoon Yolanda in 2013 in ten (10) municipalities were also assessed funded by the Recovery Assistance for Yolanda (RAY) program of DILG. These public buildings include the municipal halls, public markets, civic centers, day care centers and barangay halls.
A total of 39.6M of DILG funded projects were validated by the team in the municipalities of Barbaza, Bugasong, Caluya, Culasi, Laua-an, Libertad, Pandan, Patnongon, San Remigio, Sebaste, Tibiao and Valderrama.
The result of the assessment will be used in the preparation of the FY 2018 budget proposal of the Department for the Locally-Funded Projects. Subprojects that require additional funding to be fully operational and to attain its objective will be prioritized for the FY 2018 appropriation. (LGOO II Judy Mae Magdato, DILG-Antique)
