A total of 1,115 participants from all the provinces of Region 6 was oriented by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Regional Office 6 on the salient features of the One Nation, One Government: Transition to Federalism Project during the Provincial Strengthening of the BADACs and Orientation on MASA MASID and Federalism.
The activity was attended by Local Chief Executives, SB Chairmen of Committee on Peace and Order, Liga ng mga Barangay Presidents, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officers, Municipal Health Officers, Chiefs of Police, CSO and Faith-based Organization representatives and City/Municipal Local Government Operations Officers of all the 134 local government units in the region.
The activity aimed to orient and share to the participants the salient features of Federalism, its basic form and structure as well as its advantages and disadvantages.
DILG R6 Federalism Resource Speakers Atty. Cedric S. Jaranilla, Engr. Carmelo F. Orbista and LGOO V Aubry F. Fara-on took turns in discussing Federalism. After each presentation, an open forum was facilitated to receive feedbacks, clarifications, suggestions and questions on Federalism. Information and education campaign materials like pamphlet and brochures were also distributed to the participants after the orientation. (LGOO V Aubry F. Fara-on, DILG6)
