The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) VI in collaboration with the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) VI lead the joint meeting of the Regional Development Council (RDC) and the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) Region VI held in Casa Pilar, Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan on March 15-16, 2019.
The Regional Development Council (RDC) and the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) play vital roles in the economic and social growth and development as well as in maintaining the peace and order situation of every region in the country.
RDC-VI Chairperson, Antique Gov. Rhodora J. Cadiao and RPOC-VI Chairperson Guimaras Gov. Samuel T. Gumarin welcome the RDC-RPOC members in the two-day meeting that abreast the participants of the prevailing condition on the peace and order, drugs and insurgency, and economic and social growth and development of Region VI.
Likewise, members were updated on matters concerning Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP), Peace and Order and Public Safety – Policy Compliance Monitoring System (POPS-PCMS) and National Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC).
National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) ASEC. Mercedita A. Sombilla, presented highlights of the Medium Term Boracay Action Plan (BAP) for 2018-2022, as a secure and globally competitive world-class tourism destination. She further discussed functions of the Boracay Inter-Agency Rehabilitation Management Group (BIARMG), in compliance to BIATF Res. No. 2018-31 that will aid in the effective implementation of all policies related to environment, tourism, and enforcement.
Regional Director of PRO-VI, P/C Supt. John C. Bulalacao, briefed the participants on the General Peace and Order Situation of Western Visayas and the updates on the Crime Situation, Law Enforcement Operations, Jalaur River Multi-Purpose Project II Security, Metro Boracay Police Task Force, and 2019 National and Local Elections Security Preparations, and the Assessment.
DILG OIC-Regional Director Ariel O. Iglesia, CESO V,  presented updates on Peace and Order and Public Safety – Policy Compliance Monitoring System (POPS-PCMS) and National Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC)/ Inter-Agency Committee on Illegal Drugs (ICAD) which contribute to the prevalent situation of Region VI.
The two day meeting equipped all RDC/RPOC members of the information and targets that will make more responsive to new developments in the socio-economic-political fields and ensures sustainable, inclusive and participative development process in the local governments. #
