To strengthen LGUs capacities in water, sanitation and hygiene (WaSH) sector, the DILG R6 has committed to support local governments in the formulation of their respective Municipal Water Supply and Sanitation Master Plan (WSSMP). The program is envisioned to enhance LGUs WASH governance, empower communities, and improve policies, institutional systems, and planning-programming-budgeting processes integrating human rights-based approach and gender responsive principles.
In his message, PDMU Chief Mossad Vincent J. Araneta, CPA underscored how proper planning contributes in the effective implementation of projects. He encouraged everyone to take this opportunity to craft a plan that is both comprehensive and responsive to the needs of their localities.

The respective MEs, MPDCs, MHOs, SB Member Chair of Committee on Health, MLGOO and Encoders of 12 municipalities across the region were guided on how to gather, accomplish and interpret data utilizing the standard iWaSH tools during the Component 1 of the program held on 29-30 August 2019 at Hotel Del Rio, Iloilo City.
These data will be the basis in identifying policies, plans and programs during the Component - Investment Programming come October 2019.
The MWSSMP of the 12 participating LGUs will be used as reference of the national government in providing financial assistance under the LGSF-SALINTUBIG Program.
LGOO II Marlon V. Ladia, focal person of SALINTUBIG Program and Engr. Jonathan C. Suelo served as facilitators and resource persons of the activity.
