ILOILO City – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Western Visayas has a new OIC - Regional Director in the person of Dir. Juan Jovian E. Ingeniero, CESO IV.
Effective June 1, 2020, he is replacing Engr. Ariel O. Iglesia, CESO IV, who has been designated as RD of DILG CALABARZON (4-A), his home region.

Prior to his designation as DILG 6 OIC-RD, Dir. Ingeniero was Assistant Regional Director of the DILG National Capital Region (NCR).

Although this would be his first time serving the region, Dir. Ingeniero is far from being a stranger to Western Visayas as his family has roots in the municipality of Malinao, Aklan.
He graduated from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila with a degree in Electrical Engineering, and earned units in Master in Management from the Philippine Christian University. He has participated in several local and foreign trainings as well as management and leadership courses including the Japan Youth Invitation Program on Local Development funded by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).*
Dir. Engeniero is an accredited lecturer of the Local Government Academy, and UP-NCPAG’s most sought speaker on development legislation. He has also shared his knowledge with younger DILG-NCR LGOOs as one of the main resource persons in the region’s Specialization Courses which aims to create a pool of experts in different facets of local governance.*

Hello, Goodbye
Meanwhile, former DILG 6 RD Iglesia will be returning to DILG-CALABARZON where he formerly served as Assistant Regional Director.
Designated as DILG 6 RD on January 1, 2019, he has led the DILG Western Visayas for a short but challenging one and a half years.
Under his leadership, the DILG Region 6 has continued on its efforts towards quality management system, an endeavor that proved triumphant as the Department passed the Stage 2 ISO 9001:2015 Certification on May 2019 and was formally awarded of such on August 13, 2019.
He also led the Department through one of the most challenging times in government service – the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, which caused drastic changes in government priorities and demanded swift but efficient decision-making.
Described by the DILG Region 6 personnel as punctual, firm yet encouraging, responsible and responsive, and effective and efficient, his short stint with the Department has left an impressive and lasting mark.
When asked for his parting message to his DILG Region 6 family, RD Iglesia shared a simple yet direct quote which he considers his “guiding principle for success.”
“Find your God-centered vision and let it guide you in all that you do,” he said, concise and inspiring as ever.
Dir. Ingeniero is currently making his final preparations for transition as DILG R6 OIC-RD. Standing as Officer-in-Charge of DILG Region 6 for the meantime is Assistant Regional Director Maria Calpiza J. Sardua, CESO IV.
