On November 4, 2020, the DILG Region VI formally turned-over the check amounting to PHP 4.31 million to Dr. Raul F. Muyong, President of Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U), to fund the development of three training modules to be used in capacity development interventions to local government units through remote/distance learning.
The modules include (i) Formulation of Municipal Water Supply and Sanitation Master Plan; (ii) Operation and Maintenance of Non-Revenue Water of LGU-managed Water Supply Systems; and (ii) Construction and Occupational Safety and Health.
The development of training modules is one of several partnership activities of the DILG, ISAT U, CPU, USA, UPV and CapSU under the auspices of Western Visayas Local Governance Resource Consortium and the Western Visayas iWaSH Hub (RHub).
In his message, RD Juan Jovian E. Ingeniero of DILG VI thanked ISAT U and the rest of the members of the RHub – CPU, USA, UPV, CapSU, and WE-Heal- for the partnership and their generous contribution in local development in the Region. “Your efforts are well-appreciated”, said Ingeniero.
On his part, Dr. Muyong likewise thanked DILG for trusting ISAT U, and assured that the required outputs will be delivered. “We have been working together since 2013. As a state university, we are happy to serve and to be a partner…collaboration is the name of the game. Kay isa man lang kita ka Region, mabululigay kita”, he added.
