DILG Undersecretary Jonathan E. Malaya together with DSWD Secretary Rolando Joselito D. Bautista and DSWD Assistant Secretary Glenda D. Relova, and party conducted a face-to-face consultation with the forty-three (43) Local Chief Executives and representatives of Iloilo Province last February 3, 2022 at the Casa Real de Iloilo relative to issues and concerns in the Typhoon Odette Ayuda Distribution.

Present were Governor Arthur R. Defensor Jr., DILG Regional Director Juan Jovian E. Ingeniero, DSWD Regional Director Ma. Evelyn B. Macapobre, OCD Regional Director Jose Roberto  R. Nuñez, DSWD Assistant Regional Director Evangeline B. Felicio, DILG Provincial Director Teodora P. Sumagaysay, and Iloilo Provincial Police Office Director PCol Adrian V Acollador.


Governor Defensor in his welcome message extended his gratitude to the DSWD and DILG for the assistance not only during the Typhoon Odette but also in the fight against the COVID19 pandemic.

Secretary Bautista reiterated in his message the President’s directive to the local government units to release the assistance to all affected areas as soon as possible. He also stated that affected families not covered in the first batch of distribution will be included in the second batch, as long as the LGU submitted the list to the DSWD last January 5, 2022. 

Usec. Malaya apprised the Local Chief Executives of the status of distribution in the province and reminded LCEs who are yet to start their distribution to do so. Moreover, he commended their efforts in COVID 19 response.

After the consultation, the party proceeded to the Municipal Gymnasium of Pavia. They were welcomed by Municipal Mayor Laurence Anthony G. Gorriceta and the members of Sangguniang Bayan. Secretary Bautista and Usec. Malaya personally handed the financial assistance to the beneficiaries of the Municipality.

The party also visited Barangay Cadagmayan Norte of the Municipality of Santa Barbara to witness the actual distribution of Typhoon Odette Ayuda. Secretary Bautista, Asec. Relova, and Usec. Malaya distributed the assistance to the beneficiaries.#
